Synopsis
BBC Showcase provided the platform for the international launch of David Attenborough's A Perfect Planet, a series exploring how the forces of nature, weather, ocean currents, solar energy and volcanoes drive and sustain Earth's extraordinary diversity of life, and the fragile balance that keeps it thriving.
Semi-abstract animations were created for a 50 metre wide modular LED screen, forming an immersive backdrop to a seated dinner and Sir David Attenborough's appearance at the event. Each animation visually referenced the elemental forces at the heart of the series: weather systems, ocean currents, volcanic activity and solar energy. Bespoke audio was composed in close relation to each 3D simulation, deepening the sensory impact of the visuals. Complemented by live pyrotechnics, rainfall effects and 15 metre high flames, the installation transformed the venue into a living, breathing version of the natural world, placing a global audience of broadcasters and commissioners inside the heart of the series.

Synopsis
To mark the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing, BBC Showcase staged a special celebratory event featuring a personal appearance by Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
Spherical projection mappings of all eight planets and the Moon were created, each revealed one by one above the stage. As each planet appeared, a corresponding fly-past animation played across the 50 metre screen behind, taking the audience on a journey through the solar system. A bespoke NASA inspired soundscape completed the deep space environment, immersing guests in the scale and silence of the cosmos.
The evening culminated in the appearance of an astronaut suspended on wires, moving as if weightless in space above the heads of the audience — bringing the wonder of the original Moon landing into vivid and unforgettable relief.
